They say the the finest thing in life, is a good marriage. I think a few of the Brides in this weeks list would agree , whilst others would disagree, rip out thier own heart and stab you in the head! These Brides and wives are the iconic face of women in horror. They are not victims or scantily clad eye candy, these women are strong captivating leads that have become as synonymous with horror as Dracular of Frankenstein. From strong matriarchal wives to undead creations , these woman represent the strength of female characters within film and TV.

Today We look at the Brides of Horror. 

The Bride of Frankenstein

Created as a mate for the infamous creature, The Bride’s life is short lived. Confused by her new life and terrified of the hulking creation, She rejects Frankenstein Monster. The Creature, feeling shunned and angry, blows up the lab, killing everyone in it.

Morticia Adams

Morticia is the stern matriarch of the Adams Family. She is the wife of Gomez and mother of Wednesday, Pugsley and Pubert. She dresses in black and is likes to upholds the traditional Addam’s way. With a history reaching back to the old Salem and it’s with hunts, Morticia is inherently gifted in witchcraft. She is aloof, creative and dangerous.

The Brides of Dracula

The Brides are three seductive female vampire “sisters” who live with Count Dracula in his castle in Transylvania. They are powerful and beautiful. They are responsible for keeping Jonathan Harker Prisoner and almost succeed in seducing both Mina Harker and Dr. Van Helsing. The Doctor overcomes their dark powers and beheads the each one.

Lili Munster

Lily is the matriarch of the Munster family. She is wife to Herman, mother to Eddie and aunt to Marilyn. Lily is the voice of reason and the peace keeper between Grandpa and Herman who are always arguing. Lily is a loving housewife who takes great interest in her families lives. She is beautiful and slender with a fierce temper.

The Bride of Chucky

Killed and resurrected by Killer good Guy “Chucky”, Tiffany embraces her new life and joins Chucky on a road trip of wrath, as the two head out to find life, love and lashing of violence. With a biker Jacket worn over her wedding dress, Tiffany is domestic, sadistic and creative, putting her charms and intellect to good use to manipulate and murder.

Bride of the Reanimator

Stitched together from various body parts, and reanimated with Doctors Herbert West’s reagent, this disturbed creature only wants to be loved. The creature contains the heart of Dan Cain dead fiancée, and it’s new life remembers the love Megan Halsey had felt. When Cain rejects her, the Creature tears out it’s broken heart and disintegrate.
