Bruce Campbell in a New ‘Evil Dead’ Game!

by | Aug 20, 2018

Following the cancellation of Stars Ash vs the Evil Dead, Bruce Campbell announced that he had officially retired from playing Ash Williams. It seemed like we had seen the very last of our chiselled jawed deadite killer, but it seems that we will be getting at least one more turn with Campbell, as he confirmed an upcoming video game based on the Evil Dead franchise.

Chatting with Bloody Disgusting, Campbell dropped a few hints as to what to expect from the new game.

“I have previous obligations I have to fulfill. They are doing a video game. A whole immersive kind of dealio. I’ll be Ash for that, because I wouldn’t want someone else’s voice hamming it up.”

Exciting stuff. The “immersive kind of dealio” suggests we may be looking at an Evil Dead VR project or maybe even a ‘Pokemon Go‘ styled game? However, for now, we’ll have to wait and see, as Campbell remains tight lipped on more details.

There has been a few Evil Dead games over the years, including a C64/spectrum Evil Dead game, Evil Dead: Hail to the King , Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick and Evil Dead: Regeneration, all of which were pretty fun to play. I’ll be looking forward to something a little more modern and a lot more interactive.
