Cell Blows it’s Wad!

It is possible, that Cells recent clip has just blown the films money shot (yes eww I know, but it’s the best analogy i could come up with…it’s a friday!). Being an avid Stephen King fan, I read Cell the day it came out, and was blown away by the books opening moments. The rest of the books a little bit of a let down. Considering the issues this film has had getting distribution and the fact that it’s going straight to VOD, DVD and Blu-ray, it’s probably not wise to release the films most action packed moment before release. Yet that is what they have done, as part of the films promotion.

Lets face it, the films overly long trailer is pretty boring, desperately trying to sell you something that it’s not. Like those sales men that wont stop talking, the trailer spills over like a blocked drain, churning up scene after scene that do little to build a bigger picture of the film.

I enjoyed the book, and I really hoped that they would create a good adaption, but it seems that the films just not that great. Why else would the films original distributor drop the film like it was a hot potato. Add to that the films premiere at FrightFest being canceled and replaced at the last minute, it’s clear that the Cell is a real stinker.
