‘Child’s Play’ TV Series Arriving in 2020

“it’s a whole new story!”

With Orion (yes that company that went bankrupt in 95) dropping their own Child’s Play next month, the big question on every horror fans lips is, what about “our” Chucky! Well, it’s been no secret that producer Don Mancini wan’ts to continue the adventures of Charles Lee Ray with more films and a spin off TV series. We’ll news on the either have been pretty quite, until someone took too twitter to find out what was happening.

Whilst there is no news from Mancini, Bloody Disgusting pointed out that Nick Antosca, producer for the upcoming TV show, had chatted with Slash Film about the project, and he had this to say.

“The series is going to be closer to the tone of the first two movies in the series… It’s going to go back to a sort of classic scare.”

So will the new film continue the story from the films or is it some sort of semi-reboot? Neither, according to Antosca, who weaves a crossover show set in the same universe.

“It’s consistent with that mythology, but it’s a whole new story, So you could come into it without knowing anything about the previous stuff and get into it. But it is consistent with all the mythology that has come before, so it is in canon.”

Antosca also speaks about the possibility of Jennifer Tilly and Fiona Dourif reprising their roles, but it’s unlikely they will appear in the first series. One thing is for sure Brad Dourif will be returning as the voice of Chucky, even if he is not the center attention for the new show.

More news on this soon…
