Walking Dead

Is a fan favorite really dead?

The walking dead has never been shy of killing off characters, however, in the latest episode of AMC’S award winning show, it appeared that a fan favorite was killed off in a brutal zombie showdown. Up until series four, it was anyone’s guess who was going to bite the big one, but it had become apparent that a core set of characters were immune from the chopping block. Well, at least until Glen Rhee toppled into a huge pack of zombies.

Glenn falls into a crowd of walkers where he appeared to be ripped apart by the horde. Many Fans believe that perhaps  it was Nicholas’ (Michael Traynor) we saw being bloodily torn open, after committing suicide, dragging Glen down into the pack. But in the after-show “Talking dead” showrunner Scott Gimple made this statement

“Dear fans of The Walking Dead, this is a hard story to tell, and when we were planning to tell it, we knew our friends over at Talking Dead would be talking to you about it, and knowing you’d talking and feeling and commiserating, I knew we should say something about it, lest our silence say something we didn’t mean to say or not say so I will say this. In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn, or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story, to help complete the story.”

Glenn’s fate remains unclear. It could be a fake out, one aimed at keep fans on the edge of their seats. But I will say this much, Glen deserves a little more pomp and ceremony, and I doubt that The Walking Dead would reduce it to a short mid-way pre-break cut.  All eyes on next weeks episode where producers have promised us that we will find out Glens fate.

Until then
