Fox’s telefilm version of the Rocky Horror Picture Show was announced earlier this year, and despite many fans complaints and the original casts scepticisms, the show has found it’s first star.  Orange is the New Black actress Laverne Cox has signed up to star, along with High School Musical’s Kenny Ortega on board to direct, the remake is beginning to pick up momentum.

With a 40th anniversary tour this year, at the London Playhouse, there is a freshed interest in the show, which explains why Fox 21 Television Studios is pushing ahead.

Cox has been cast as the  mad scientist Frank-N-Furter in the two-hour TV special, a part most famously played by Tim Curry in the film version of the musical.

Rocky Horror Picture Show will air in fall 2016 on Fox.
