With Doctor Sleep heading towards cinemas this week, now has never been a better time to revisit the 1980 adaptation of Stephen King’s The Shining. Whilst history will forever see Stanley Kubrick’s film as one of the scariest films ever made, it’s sometimes surprising to hear how difficult the production process was. Between the constant script changes, on set fires and actor breakdowns, Kubrick managed to create one of the most genre defining films of all time. But it does sounds like the film was one hell of a nightmare to be a part of.
