New Year’s Eve – New Year’s Evil (1980)

Look no further than the 1980’s slasher that sets a serial killer against a music show host.  New Year’s Evil hit cinema screens the same year as popular slasher Friday the 13th, but failed to capture the imagination of audiences as much as Pamela Voorhees murderous rampage. But it’s failure is more down to quality than anything else. With its laughable script, inept direction, and amateurish performances, this movie is one that just might make you scream in pain. However, it’s production problems are heavily overshadowed by its campy fun, and despite its flaws, it’s still a thoroughly entertaining romp that highlights horror on New Year’s Eve.

Valentine’s Day – My Bloody Valentine (1981)

Looking for a way to spend your Valentine’s Day? Why not spend it with the 1981 Canadian slasher My Bloody Valentine? The plot tells about a group of young adults who decide to throw a Valentine’s Day party, only to incur the vengeful wrath of an assailant in mining gear who begins a killing spree. Full of surprises and heart-throbbing suspense, this 40 year old horror still manages to be extraordinarily chilling making it the perfect movie to snuggle up with. you’ll have the time of your life!

Mother’s Day – Mother’s Day (1980)

Mom! It’s Mother’s Day, and you deserve the best. I know you’ve had a hard life, but it’s time for some motherly love with a side portion of extreme violence. Happy Mother’s Day! This year we’ll be celebrating with Mother’s Day, a film from Troma Entertainment that delivers a truly unique horror experience that is a classic slice of 80’s horror. The film features an insane matriarch and her equally disturbed sons who inflict gruesome bodily harm upon three campers. I’m sure Mom will be proud!

Saint Patrick’s Day – Leprechaun (1993)

Saint Patrick’s Day is an international celebration of Irish culture. You can Celebrate your love of tradition with a pint of Guinness, or enjoy the classic 90s horror-comedy Leprechaun! Starring  Warwick Davis in the title role, and Jennifer Aniston in her film debut, this humorous horror sets a psychotic Leprechaun against a bunch of teens. So why not turn green on Paddy’s day and watch this cracking horror gem.

April Fool’s Day – April Fool’s Day (1986)

What’s your favorite prank? It’s time to indulge your dark side with this April Fool’s Day horror trick that may just turn into a treat. April Fool’s Day is a bloody slice of 80s slasher cinema with the twists and turns you’d come to expect from the sub-genre. Fathers Day – Fathers Day (2011)

When summer comes round, it’s time to settle down in the warm evenings with an ice cold beer and a good horror. You can’t go wrong with a classic slasher from the 90s. I Know What You Did Last Summer is a celebration of the summer slasher genre that features four teenagers who try to cover up a hit-and-run case, only to find themselves hunted by a mysterious man with a hook.
