Boba Fett Won’t Appear in ‘The Mandalorian’

..Sorry Star Wars fans, but your dreams of Boba Fett film/TV series are still light years away according to writer and executive producer Jon Favreau, who answered some quick fire question from Good Morning America. It could be easy to assume the lead character is just simply Boba Fett with show’s name hinting towards his roots, but it seems that is not the case her. The talented writer/actor/producer/director laid it all out bare for fans as he was asked point-blank if Boba-Fett will be in his live-action Disney Exclusive show. When asked “Boba Fett, will he me in the Mandalorian?”

“Boba Fett is not.. they’re (the cast) all new characters… There’s a 30 year stretch of story time that has not been explored at all, expect in the extended universe. “

Favreau, director Dave Filoni and star Pedro Pascal recent spoke about the difference, in an interview with EW. Whilst both Boba Fett and The Mandalorian are bounty hunters and wear the same styled armour, that is where the similarities end. Filoni said..

“Boba Fett is a clone, according to Attack of the Clones, and by asking [creator George Lucas], he would say Boba Fett is not Mandalorian, not born on Mandalore. He’s more of a person indoctrinated into it, into the way of life, and gets a hold of the armor.”

No one is saying that the fan favorite bounty hunter is completely of the cards, as it’s  plausible that he could appear in further series! But for now, Boba Fett is certainly benched from the new run of films and TV series being produced by disney.

Disney+ is set to launch in the U.S in the first half of 2020 – and the UK will go live a few months later!

You can check out the full interview with Jon Favreau below, but you’ll need to skip to arround 2:09 for the good stuff.
