Netflix Super Violent Castlevania Series

by | Feb 9, 2017

Through nostalgia tinted glasses, gamers remember the old school days of the almost impossible to beat Castlevania video game. The action-platformer video game, developed and published by Konami, saw Simon Belmont trying his best to defeating Dracula and his many minions, in the year 1691. The game quickly spawned a series of sequels, more than 40 titles since releasing its first installment in 1986, and very soon a brand new animated Netflix TV series.

According to a press release sent out this week, Netflix revealed that the animated adaption “Castlevania” – Season 1 – Part 1 is headed to the streaming service later this year. Netflix wrote

Inspired by the classic video game series, “Castlevania” is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert, and Adi Shankar.

Adi Shankar, known for his work within the Dredd universe and for his awesome 2014 Power Rangers fan film, has been working with Fred Seibert’s Frederator Studios to produce the animated series and promises that it’s going to be super violent.

Frederator, which is known for TV programs such as Adventure Time, this marks their first tender (or bloody) steps into Netflix television, but hopefully will mark the start of a great partnership.

So if Vampires and bloody animated shows are your thing, you’ll be dying to see the new series which launches later this year. THANGS Netflix…. i’ll BITE!
