What? Another Day of the Dead Remake?

by | May 10, 2016

As remakes go, the Steve Milner’s 2008 remake of Day of the Dead is pretty awful. Hitting shortly after the amazing remake of Dawn of the Dead, Jeffrey Reddick’s (The writer for Final Destination) script for Day was lack lustre and generic. With little to no budget and a cast of no-bodies, the crazy zombie fest was filled with strangely moving zombies that ran around without moving their arms, drove cars and crawl around on the flipping ceiling… What!?!
The whole thing was a mess and Iv’e tried my best to forget it, along with the many other cheaply made zombies films that started to saturate the market of the late noughties.

Far from letting the 2008 stain discourage them, studios Nu Image/Millennium are determined to give it another stab with a film synopsis that goes like this.

The post-apocalyptic tale follows a former medical student tormented by a dark figure from her past, who happens to be a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her.

Wait…WHAT! What the hell is this. It sounds to me like just another project in which a crappy low budget film studios is trying to capitalise on Romero’s classic. Sorry but a film in which Bub romantically stalks his ex girlfriend is not something I really need in my life. When a film is too scared to go it alone and hang on to the apron strings of another, you know it’s going to be a steaming pile of trash.

Anyhow..our friends over at Bloody Disgusting tell us that  Hèctor Hernández Vicens is directing and that filming starts soon.

Ill be skipping this one…me thinks!
