A New Living Dead!

The director for George A. Romero’s last zombie film, “Twilight of the Dead,” has been confirmed, after the script “rose from the grave” amoungst the iconic directors many scripts and sribbles discovered on his estate.

Brad Anderson has been chosen to direct the upcoming movie, which will be the last installment in the popular Living Dead series (at least the last penned by Romero). The film is being funded and produced by the multi-platform production company, Roundtable Entertainment. Recently, Roundtable Entertainment announced a collaboration with the Romero estate to bring the highly anticipated movie, Twilight of the Dead, to life. Filming for the movie is scheduled to commence later this year.

The treatment for the project was produced by Romero and Paolo Zelati, while the screenplay was written by Joe Knetter, Robert Lucas, and Zelati.

The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Anderson this week and he said:

“George Romero’s 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead may have been the first real horror movie I ever saw and its shock value, its keen social relevance, and even the means by which it was made were all hugely inspirational to me… This too is a zombie movie in which limbs fly and heads roll, but one that is also about social transformation, one that asks the question: What is it to be human? It is also a horror movie with “heart” and, dare I say, hope.”

The film Twilight of the Dead is being produced by Suzanne Romero, John Baldecchi, Stephanie Caleb from Ardvella Entertainment

This certainly sounds amazing, and any horror fan will be excited at the prospect or seeign one final George A. Romero film. Lets hope this one is set to hit cinemas, as I for one will be hitting the popcorn hard for GR’s last zombie thriller!

More news as it’s rotting copse drags itself from the ground.
