Where we’re going, we won’t need eyes to see. In the bid to win the subscription war, the big players are quickly swooping up the TV rights to many popular films, video games, books and comics, in the hope of making the next BIG thing. Amazon are hoping their next big thing is Paul W. S. Anderson’s crazy Sci-Fi shocker Event Horizon.

The original 1997 film starred Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neill stuck onboard a possessed ship that had traveled to another dimension. Event Horizon was basically a haunted house film in space, with graphic scenes and mutated people filling in for your usual bumps in the night. The film has gather a cult following over the years, but sits with a measly 27% rotten over on Rotten Tomatoes

According to Variety, Amazon and Paramount Television are developing the show together, with Adam Wingard is set to executive produce and direct the series, with Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin returning to produce the series, as they did the film.  Wingard latest cinema outing is Godzilla vs. Kong, which is due out March 2020, and he previously directed the The Blair Witch reboot, The Guest and You’re Next.
