‘Ghostbusters’ Wraps with Cast Photo

by | Oct 21, 2019

It looks like the Jason Reitman directed Ghostbusters sequel has finally wrapped up, after the filmmaker celebrated with a quick update from instagram. The new film will be a canonized third film, following on from Ghostbusters II way way back in 1989. The film will follow a family moving back to an old town where supernatural things occur. I think it’s safe to say that the family is related to Egon Spengler, who will be dealing with the loss of the Ghostbuster. Actor Harold Ramis passed away in 2014, and so it seems that the lack of Egon could be the spark needed to ignite the new film.

Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson are all set to return to their roles, with Sigourney Weaver also set to revise her role as Dana Barrett. Paul Rudd is also starring and I’m super hoping he’ll be playing a now adult Oscar Barrett (please please please!) Other Cast members are Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Carrie Coon, Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim.

Reitman posted the below image with the caption “68 days and still smiling. #GB20”

So now the film kicks into post production, where all those spooks are brought to life. Let’s just hope that they keep some of the old puppetry techniques that gave the previous two Ghostbusters films it’s distinct look. The Ghost from the 2016 reboot were a neon hell! We really don’t want to see more of that.

Ghostbusters 3 will hit cinemas in 2020.
