New Chapter to Celebrate Four Years of ‘Dead by Daylight’

by | May 11, 2020

Someone is turning 4 later this month and it sounds like they might be bringing new friends to the party. Behaviour Interactive will be celebrating a successful fourth year for their asymmetrical multiplayer (4vs1) horror game Dead by Daylight on May 26th. They will be holding a panel-based review of the games past, present and future, along with a brand new licensed chapter.

During these exceptional times, the Dead by Daylight team has worked hard to prepare a panel-based review of the past year and most notably of the year to come. Panelists will be presenting from their homes; giving fans and journalists alike the breakdown of the most recent developments within the game, what the ever active and thriving Dead by Daylight community has been up to and will end with the reveal of Chapter 16.

This new chapter will feature a classic license, one that has marked the world of horror since its inception. As with every new Chapter, it will feature a new map, a terrifying new killer and a mysterious survivor.

The games licensed characters so far has always been right on the money, with Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scream, Saw and Ash vs the Evil Dead all in game. Most of the chapters include a Killer, a survivor and map, so Halloween brought us Michael Myers, Laurie Strode and Haddonfield as a backdrop to play. The killers have the most attention to detail thrown at them, to for each of their unique attributes being fitted into the game-play. The survivors usually have skills that can counter act the new killer.

Using the words classic license means that they are looking at 70’s or 80’s. As a bit of fun guess, it could be Hellraiser, Psycho, Stage Fright, Maniac Cop or Even Child’s play. Me Personally, I’d love to see Candyman make an appearance. I can see Daniel Robitaille and Helen Lyle fitting in nicely, with Cabrini Green as the backdrop.

One franchise that won’t be making it’s way to DBD is Friday the 13th. The entire film franchise is still in huge legal battle that saw rival game Friday the 13th grind to a halt it’s production. But lets not rule it out entirely.

You can watch the live event over on Twitch and Youtube on May 26 at 2pm EST.
