Sam Raimi Teases New ‘Evil Dead’

by | Oct 7, 2019

With Sam Raimi’s TV spinoff  ‘Ash Vs The Evil Dead‘ ending last year, us hard-core Horror Fans new that we would see more Evil Dead in way one or another. After all, it’s one of Horrors most cherished  franchises, that sported Horrors King of protagonists, Ash Williams. So the news that Raimi is planning more Evil Dead will come as no real surprise. Comicbook.com reported on the news, which they picked up when Raimi appeared  at New York Comic Con, promoting Ghost House Pictures’ The Grudge reboot.

Sadly it seems, Bruce Campbell will not be reprising his role as he has retired from playing Ash, something the star has been very firm on. Raimi said Bruce was …

“tired of me throwing blood on him. 40 years of Bruce and those sticky syrup shirts… He wants to work again, but he just doesn’t want to play that role right now.”

After confirming Campbell will not star but would Produce, Raimi teased, “There’s more Evil Dead coming”, which is still cryptic, but enough for us fans to know that the franchise is not completely dead in the water. Though it’s certainly not something Raimi sees keen on directing himself, Much like the 2013 Evil Dead reboot, as he is looking for something different to bite in to for his next project.

“I’d love to [direct again] — I love directing… It’s hard though — it’s hard when you don’t have the best script to direct. I’m waiting to find a script that really speaks to me, something that everyone would love, but is really personal to me, too. Then I would be back in the director’s chair… What’s next Is I’m writing a movie with my brother Ivan, and I’m hoping to make that,”

Exciting times Horror Fans, let us know how you feel about more Evil Dead in the comments below. More news on this story as it develops (hopefully into something bloody!!!)
