Walking Dead Movies are Coming!

by | Sep 20, 2018

Lets face it, The Walking Dead franchise is dead… No, I don’t mean shambling, walking corpse kinda dead, I mean really dead. The latest season has been hampered by issues with casting, with rumours that Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan (Rick and Maggie) will be leaving this series, with the show now balancing on a bunch characters that should not really be front and centre. Yes we all love Norman Norman Reedus’ Daryl, but even the  writer of season 8 just did not know what to do with him, leaving him pretty much in the background for the entire run.

The sister show Fear the Walking Dead, (SPOILERS………… REAL SPOILERS), just killed off almost all of it’s original cast, making more episodes as about as appealing as watching re-runs of that stupid dating show, I Wanna Marry Harry, where a fake Prince Harry creeper over a bunch of wanna be royal 20 somethings. Why would you want to watch a show where the main cast just are not there anymore?

Anyhow, AMC think that the franchise is still viable, with the confirmation that several movies and other shows are in the works. Bloomberg got the scoop, with the shows plans sketchily revealed to investor conference.

“With the original show entering its ninth season, AMC is looking for ways to expand the series into a franchise that lives on in many forms, like “Star Wars” and “Star Trek,” “

Sounds Interesting?

“The company wants to produce several movies for a TV network or streaming service that could spin off into different series, said the people. The company would also take the franchise overseas, setting at least one series in another country.”

Please be set In Great Britain. Almost all of the great (non George Romero) Zombie films are set in Britain, Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days Later, The Girl with all the Gifts..etc

Anyhow, this all could fall through with the next series of TWD, with the shows (and comic books) lead almost definitely leaving, the show may just collapse under the dead weight! Seriously guys… you should not have killed of Carl!
