CBS Series “Clarice” Trailer Reunites With Starling!

The official trailer has arrived and with it, over two minutes of footage which shows Starling back in action and reeling from a series of real-life disasters that have pushed her back into the path of tracking down killers.
“Clarice is set in 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. The series is a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling, as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C.”
Whilst we get to see much more of Wild Bill here, as flash backs, don’t expect to see Hannibal Lecter. Jenny Lumet, an executive producer on CBS, explained to EW that they can’t even mention his name.
“The rights to author Thomas Harris’ characters are bewilderingly divided between MGM and the Dino De Laurentiis Company. So the CBS show will have all the Harris characters that NBC’s Hannibal didn’t have — such as Starling, her colleague Ardelia Mapp (Devyn Tyler), Deputy Assistant Attorney General Paul Krendler (Michael Cudlitz), the late serial killer Buffalo Bill, and a few others. And all of Starling’s experiences with Dr. Lecter still happened in this new story, and the cannibal doctor remains at large. But Hannibal is, legally speaking, He Who Shall Not Be Named.”
Rebecca Breeds (“Pretty Little Liars”) star as Clarice Starling. Other cast members includes Michael Cudlitz, Lucca de Oliveira, Kal Penn and Nick Sandow. Apart from Starling, the only other familiar character announced is Catherine Martin, played by Marnee Carpenter.
The show premiere on Thursday, February 11th on CBS and CBS All Access.
