I was thrilled at last weeks announcement that Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey were cast as the Gunslinger and Man in Black for the upcoming adaption of Stephen Kings The Dark Tower.
Yesterday Variety reported that another brit, newcomer Tom Taylor, as Jake Chambers.
Jake is a major character in the series, who becomes one of Roland Deschain’s, a.k.a. The Gunslinger, closest friend on their journey to the Dark Tower. Though there are some rocky times ahead and it will take some one with great emotion to pull off the part. Lets hope this land mark role will launch Taylor into a star.
The biggest issue here is his age, as we will see him grow from a child into a man, as the films series runs on for years to come. In the book series, he is a young boy throughout. Though im sure this will not ruin the films, it may annoy some of the die hard fans.
