Eli Roth Making “History of Horror” TV Series

Eli Roth, fresh of his latest stint as presenter of Shark Week, has just announced that himself and AMC are making a brand new horror TV series called History of Horror. Tentatively titled “AMC Visionaries: Eli Roth’s History of Horror,“ this six-parter will look at the genre and its deeply involved history in film. With interviews horror directors and actors, this will be the an amazing look at our favorite subject.

“I’m thrilled to be part of this incredible series. For years, I’ve wanted to create a definitive ‘History of Horror,’ a living record of the genre with interviews from all the greats, old and new,” said Roth. “Sadly, we lose more of these masters every year and with them go their stories and experiences. This show will serve as a record for future generations — fans and filmmakers alike — to enjoy. I could not be prouder to create this with AMC.”

The Visionary series will also look at Science fiction with James Cameron taking the helm, and AMC have also announced a “Secret History of Comics” with Robert Kirkman leading the way.

“AMC Visionaries: Eli Roth’s History of Horror” will premiere in 2018.
