Hulu will Host the ‘Hellraiser’ Reboot!

by | May 25, 2021

After years of pointless sequels and attempted soft reboots, we are finally getting a true reimagining of the original Hellraiser film. We announced back in April of 2020, that David Bruckner was set to direct the new movie, but news went cold whilst the world tackled Covid. However, recent news from Bloody Disgusting sets the stage for Hellraiser over on Hulu.

“Hulu has solved the puzzle box, acquiring the forthcoming Hellraiser reimagining from Spyglass Media, Bloody Disgusting learned today.”

Hellraiser is a 1987 British supernatural horror film written and directed by Clive Barker, based on his novella The Hellbound Heart. Hellraiser introduced audiences to the The Lament Configuration puzzle box, which opens a gateway to another dimension. The film spawned, nine sequels, but not all of them were at the level you would expect of a film franchise.

The new movie is not the only project in the works. Much like the Child’s Play series, which is still playing with films, a reboot and a brand new TV show, Hellraiser is also hitting the small screens with a new show by Halloween reboot director David Gordon Green. He is set to direct the pilot and several more initial episodes for HBO.

Getting a firm confirmation of the film moving forward is a truly exciting thing, and I personally can’t wait too hear more.
