Boy is this really bad timing! Literally a week after the death of David Bowie, The Hollywood reporter is bringing us news that TriStar and The Jim Henson Co. are to produce a remake of the the 1986 classic Labyrinth. The original film starred David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly starring in a crazy adventure into the goblin kingdom. Bowie was already a huge star at this point, but it helped to increase his fan base, and he’s turn as Jarreth is forever etched on our minds. Cod piece and all!

TriStar has hired Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman to pen the script, so at least we know that the films in good hands. For some, it’s going to be a real punch in the arm, especially right after Bowie’s death.

Let us know in the comments below how you feel about this news. I’m sitting on the fence until I hear more news. But one thing is sure in my mind, You can’t recast Jarreth! You just can’t!
