‘Mortal Kombat’ Movie Rumbles into Theatres and HBO Max in April!

You may have heard about Warner Brothers recent decision to launch all it’s 2021 films in theaters and on HBO Max at the same time. The upcoming Mortal Kombat movie has been announced as one of these films, with a firm date in place too. So come hell and highwater (or covid and cold weather), the fight to save Earth realm will kick off April 16th 2021.

Producer Todd Garner broke the news on Twitter, also sharing the official poster and logo for the new film.

 


 Garner also promises a Trailer in the new year.

“Trailer in the new year. Sorry it took so long to get this out.”

As for cast,  Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada are playing Sub-Zero and Scorpion, the series two most iconic characters. Other castings include Chin Han as Tsang Tsung,  Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Josh Lawson as Kano, Jessica McNamee as Sony Blade and Elidda Cadwell as Nitara. Lewis Tan is playing the films mysterious protagonist.

We are promised that the film will be an R rated film, hopefully because of the fatalities .
