Directed George Miller created a post-apocalyptic nightmare in 1979 when he introduced audiances to Max Rockatansky, an ex police officer driven mad by the loss of his wife and daughter at the height of a global econmical collapse. Mad Max tells a story of societal breakdown, murder, and revenge, starring the then little-known Mel Gibson. It quickly grew into a multi-film franchise that Miller has coninued to this very day, with the fifth film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga arriving in cineams in 2024.
