The Silence of the Lambs – What’s the Difference?
“Have the Lambs stopped screaming?”
It’s time to tuck yourselves in, do a funny dance and go crazy, CineFix are once again asking What’s the Difference? This time around they are looking at the 1988 book The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris and the 1991 film of the same name. Whilst the film stays pretty close to it’s source material, there’s a lot of clever camera work involved to help bridge the inner monologue scenes within the book.
Tucking into a delicious Thanksgiving dinner? Don’t forget your liver, fava beans and chianti! Jonathan Demme’s masterpiece is a pretty faithful adaptation of Thomas Harris’ novel but translates the page to the screen in some fascinating ways.
