Melissa McBride Exits ‘Walking Dead’ Spin-Off

by | Apr 28, 2022

It seems the long awaited spin-off show from the walking dead, which would have seen Melissa McBride‘s Carol and Norman Reedus‘ Daryl team up, has been drastically altered after McBride has pulled out of the show. The planned show was first announced back 2020, when the show had to re-invent itself following the departure of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes. The spin-off would have seen Carol and Daryl’s journey together.

According to tvline, McBride could not make the location shoots in Europe and has had to pull from the project.

“Unfortunately, she is no longer able to participate in the previously announced spinoff focused on the Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier characters, which will be set and filmed in Europe this summer and premiere next year. Relocating to Europe became logistically untenable for Melissa at this time. We know fans will be disappointed by this news, but The Walking Dead Universe continues to grow and expand in interesting ways and we very much hope to see Carol again in the near future.”

Fan’s may be devastated by the news as Carol is probably one of the most interesting characters from the shows original line up. However, not all is lost, as Norman Reedus will now have his very own spin off show and we may very well see Carol in later seasons. The fact that the new show is set in Europe, means that we are getting our very first international Walking Dead show, which should get everyone super hyped.

More news when it rises from the grave and tries to bite us….
